Woot Wine - Traiacipedis the White

WOOT Wine – Traiacipedis the White

Have you ever checked out the deal of the day websites? WOOT is probably the biggest of these types of sites and boasts a deal every day on an item that perhaps you cannot live without. In addition to their regular site, WOOT also hosts sites for closeout specials (Sellout-Woot), T-shirts (T-Shirt Woot), kids toys (Kids-Woot) and wine (Wine Woot). The wine site is certainly worthy of exploration. Wine Woot (www.wine.woot.com) offers a deal on wine twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. If you are a little adventurous you will occasionally find a deal worthy of the Great Wine on a Dime title. Recently we purchased a 6-bottle pack of Traiacipedes the White, a Woot Cellars selection at under $10.00 a bottle.

This white is a compilation of Riesling, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. It has nice aromas of citrus zest and peaches. On the palette, a combination of tropical fruits – pineapple, orange, banana, lime zest and peaches. This is a crisp, dry wine with a great finish. It has absolutely no oak on the tongue and is very light. This would pair well with a salad or appetizer course or just be nice to sip on a hot Texas afternoon.

While you can’t buy this in just any old store – this Woot offering gets 4 corks out of 5 from us wine-amateurs this week for both price (under $10 a bottle) and well-rounded flavor.
