WOOT Wine – Traiacipedis the White

Recently we purchased a 6-bottle pack of Traiacipedes the White, a Woot Cellars selection at under $10.00 a bottle.
This white is a compilation of Riesling, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. It has nice aromas of citrus zest and peaches. On the palette, a combination of tropical fruits – pineapple, orange, banana, lime zest and peaches. This is a crisp, dry wine with a great finish. It has absolutely no oak on the tongue and is very light. This would pair well with a salad or appetizer course or just be nice to sip on a hot Texas afternoon.
While you can’t buy this in just any old store – this Woot offering gets 4 corks out of 5 from us wine-amateurs this week for both price (under $10 a bottle) and well-rounded flavor.
Recently on a trip to the local market we stumbled upon this find just right for our economically constrained budget. A value at $5 it was certainly worth the splurge. Jammy fruit greeted our noses with a hint of mineral and lime deposits from Argentina soils. The tasting greeted us with a light body and the pleasure of subtle hints of plum and full on blackberry that finishes with a hint of acidity, leaving a lingering sting that lets you know you picked well. This value wine is worth the extra buck or two in these hard times and amuses the soul as well as the palate.
